Spincasting Reels, not to be confused with Spinning reels are meant to be used with Casting Rods. Spincasting Reels should not be used with Spinning or Fly Rods. If you need a Spinning or other type of reel please check out our great selection of other reels!

Spincasting reels usually come as one-size-fits-all but do come in a variety of different “speeds” (how fast the reel winds in the line/lure). They can be used ambidextrously (by both left and right handed people) as well, make great starter reels and can easily be used without much practice by all ages, sometimes also called “push button” reels, you simply push the button down as you cast allowing for a very simple fishing method.

Spincasting reels are great multi-species reels and are the gold standard of many anglers arsenals world-wide. Any species that swims can be caught using these wonderful tools.

If you or someone you know is a beginning angler, lacks mobility or just wants a simpler setup, then a Spincasting reel will be the perfect accessory. These reels are generally recommended for ages 8+ but can be used easily by almost anyone, even younger children who have the patience and will to spend a couple of minutes learning. Spincasting reels are reliable and have fewer moving parts than most reels making them almost fool-proof and given a modicum of care can be incredibly long-lasting.

Tight lines and Fish on!
